Ceremony – Christ Church, Lavender Bay

How did you meet? Heath and I were working for the same organisation for a few years. It was one of the annual staff conferences that we hit it off right away and one thing lead to another

How did you get engaged?  As I found out afterwards Heath had planned to propose at dinner at the Opera bar (the scene of our first date) on the first weekend in June 2016 – the weekend of the biggest rain event Sydney has had for many years. This changed Heaths plans and he decided he would have to propose at home over dinner. On the day of the proposal Heath announced he was going to the supermarket to get something for dinner – unbeknownst to me he was planning to visit my father to ask for my hand in marriage, as is the tradition with my father being Italian. As it happened when he went to leave he discovered we’d been flooded in and he couldn’t get the car out. After some quick re-arranging my sister picked him up and took him to see my father (and eventually the supermarket). Later that night, as we were finishing up cooking (our shared passion) he asked me to sit down because he had a very expensive entree, something I would love. With all the mood set, candles etc he placed in front of me on a plate my beautiful engagement ring

How long did you spend planning your wedding? The entire 9 months months we were engaged. Amazing how quick the time passed by.

How would you describe your Big Day? Our big day was perfect in every way, right down to every little detail. We look back on it today and agree we would not have changed a thing!

What was the highlight of your Day? Walking into the reception was our highlight. All of our families and friends were so excited for our entrance, they loved it as much as we did.

Do you have any suggestions for future Brides and Grooms? The day goes by so quickly! Try not to stress about the plans coming together on the big day, Orso made sure everything went perfectly!
